Miss Contestant Information

On behalf of the Miss Wayne County and Miss Coastal Empire Pageant we are pleased to announce information regarding our upcoming pageant. The winners will represent Wayne County and the Southeast Georgia area and compete for the title of Miss Georgia at the Miss Georgia Pageant in June of 2017. The winner of the Miss Georgia Pageant will represent our state at the Miss America pageant.




  • a female between the ages of 17-24

  • a high school graduate before July 30, 2018

  • no older than 24 years of age before December 31, 2018

  • a permanent resident for a least 6 months prior to the date of the pageant,and either live or work-full time, or be a full-time student in the state of Georgia.

  • Miss Wayne County is a closed competition to contestants who are residents of or go to school (including Coastal Pines Technical College Jesup Campus) in Wayne County.  Miss Coastal Empire is an OPEN competition. 



The Contestants’ Mandatory Dress Rehearsal for Miss Wayne County/Miss Coastal Empire will be held on Friday January 5, 2018, from 6:00 P.M. until completion at the Kay Cagle Theatre of the Performing Arts at Wayne County High School in Jesup, GA. 



You must use the required forms listed below. If the contestant is under the age of 18 the forms will need a parents signature.   Links to these forms and examples of a completed resume and essay are located at the bottom of this page. 



1.CONTRACT (The contestant contract will need to be notarized prior to sending it in.)
2.RESUME (1 Page ONLY)

In addition to your own personal platform, there is a National Platform for Miss America:  The Children’s Miracle Network.
All contestant’s competing in a local preliminary are REQUIRED to complete the Service Requirement of raising $100 for the CMN.  This is a tax deductible donation.


All fundraising must be done via the internet.  Please visit the official website at:  www.missamerica4kids.org .  Here you can register and get answers to frequently answered questions. 


YOUR DONATION OF $100 MUST BE PAID BEFORE FRIDAY JANUARY 5, 2018 and will be verified by the local Executive Director.  Should you fail to meet this requirement, you will not be allowed to compete in the pageant.


We request one clear color headshot. It is must be a 5×7 and in jpeg format. 

Deadline for headshot submission is December 17, 2017.  This will ensure that your photo will appear in the program book.

In the event that two contestants select the same song/music, the first contestant to have submitted her completed Contestant Talent Request will be allowed to use the selection. 



Each Contestant will have a private 10 minute interview with the judges.  Contestants will be asked a series of questions from the judging panel.  The questions could range from personal interest, information from your resume, your platform, what’s going on in the world today, to anything in between.  At the end of the interview, each Contestant will be given an opportunity for a 30 second closing. 

TIME LENGTH CANNOT EXCEED 90 SECONDS, NO EXCEPTIONS.   Talent will be timed on Friday night at rehearsal.

CD must have the contestant’s name clearly printed on the CD. 

You may pick up your CD immediatly after the pageant from the sound producer located in the sound booth.

You should retain another CD to use for practice.

Contestants will be judged on their response to one question related to her platform.


Swimsuit must be in good taste and can be a one or two piece.

Swimsuits will be approved at Friday night rehearsal.



Evening Gown must be in good taste and is of the contestant's own choosing.
