Teen Contestant Information
On behalf of the Miss Wayne County and Miss Coastal Empire Pageants we are pleased to announce information regarding our upcoming pageant. The winner of Miss Wayne County and Miss Coastal Empire OT will represent Wayne County and the Southeast Georgia area at the Miss Georgia OT Pageant in June of 2018. The winner of the Miss Georgia OT Pageant will represent our state at the Miss America OT pageant.
ELIGIBILITY FOR COMPETITION:
A contestant must be at least 13 years of age and at least in the eighth grade on the date of the Miss Georgia Outstanding Teen Scholarship Program.
A contestant may be 17 and a junior on the date of the Miss America Outstanding Teen Program.
A contestant may NOT be 17 and eligible to compete in the Miss America Program.
A permanent resident of the State of Georgia for a least 6 months prior to the date of the pageant. The Miss Wayne County OT pageant is a closed pageant. Contestants for Wayne's OT must live, work or go to school in Wayne County. Miss Coastal Empire OT is an OPEN pageant.
Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. at the Kay Cagle Theatre of the Performing Arts at Wayne County High School in Jesup, GA.
ENTRY FEE To compete in the Miss Wayne County and Miss Coastal Empire OT Pageant, your entry fee of $150 must be recieved no later than December 17, 2017.
MANDATORY REHEARSAL The Contestants’ Mandatory Dress Rehearsal for Miss Wayne County/Miss Coastal Empire OT will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018, from 6:00 P.M. until completion at the Kay Cagle Theatre of the Performing Arts at Wayne County High School in Jesup, GA.
REQUIRED FORMS You must use the required forms listed below. If the contestant is under the age of 18 the forms will need a parents signature. Links to these forms and examples of a completed resume and essay are located at the bottom of this page.
To compete a contestant must supply the following items:
Contestant Headshot (via email)
A photocopy of Birth Certificate or Drivers License (US Mail)
All forms filled out properly and signed. (US Mail)
Any and all applicable Miss Wayne County/Coastal Empire Outstanding Teen entry fees due for competition. (US Mail)
CONTRACT (The contestant contract will need to be notarized prior to sending it in.)

2018 CONTESTANT APPLICATION
* Please note that all talent presentations must not exceed 90 seconds. Contestants should mail 1 CD of their music accompaniment to the contestant coordinator no later than December 17, 2017. CD must have the contestant’s name clearly printed on the CD.
CONTESTANT HEADSHOT We request one clear color headshot. It is must be a 5×7 and in jpeg format.
Deadline for headshot submission is December 17, 2017. This will ensure that your photo will appear in the program book.
Headshot photo’s should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
In the event that two contestants select the same song/music, the first contestant to have submitted her completed Talent Request will be allowed to use the selection.
The scoring is as follows: Private Interview 25%, Talent 35%, Fitenss 15%, Eveningwear & Onstage Question 25%
Teen Contestants will not be allowed to wear suits. Instead of suits, the contestants should wear teen stylish clothing. The outfit should be reflective of her personality and age. She should look fresh, hip and young. More important, she should look like a teen.
Each Contestant will have a private 6 minute interview with the judges. Contestants will be asked a series of questions from the judging panel. The questions could range from personal interest, information from your resume, your platform, what’s going on in the world today, to anything in between. At the end of the interview, each Contestant will be given an opportunity for a 30 second closing.
TIME LENGTH CANNOT EXCEED 90 SECONDS, NO EXCEPTIONS. Talent will be timed on Friday night at rehearsal.
CD must have the contestant’s name clearly printed on the CD. You may pick up your CD immediatly after the pageant from the sound producer located in the sound booth. You should retain another CD to use for practice. You may also email your talent selection as a MP3 file to email@example.com.
Wear something appropriate for your talent. The rules of good taste and age appropriateness should prevail. Remember that stage lights are strong and you need to make sure you have sufficient lining with any talent outfit.
ON STAGE QUESTION
Contestants will be judged on their response to one question related to her platform.
Contestants will wear an outfit of their choice. This is a modeling routine and should be fun and fast-paced. Outfits can be any color of athletic wear such as boy shorts, capri’s or skorts. Tops are t-shirts, halter tops or sports tops. Contestants can be creative without embellishments – no sequins, stone, beads, etc. In other words – no sparkle. This is not an extension of your talent competition.
Fitness Wear will be approved at the Friday night rehearsal.
ON STAGE QUESTION
You will be judged in your on-stage question during Evening Wear.
